process of f/u for SCCs?
if small (less than 1cm), well differentiated and fully excised then 1 f/u visit at 3-6mnths-need to examine scar checking for adequate healing and look for local recurrence, check LNs, look for new lesions, advise on sun protection, explain to look out for in terms of recurrence, or BCC development.
if more than 1cm and/or moderately/poorly differentiated then f/u for 3 years:
3 mnthly for 1st year
4 mnthly for 2nd year
6 mnthly for 3rd year
name given to a SCC in situ?
Bowens disease
skin lesion features suggestive of a SCC?
scaly papule/nodule growing outwards away from the skin, with possible central horn or central ulceration, and surrounding erythema, hx of bleeding, present on sun exposed site.
