Patient states that it feels like medication is lodged in throat

- Offer patient more fluids to drink. If allowed offer the patient brad or crackers to help move the medication to the stomach.

It is unclear whether patient has swallowed Medicaiton.

Check Patient’s mouth under tounge, between cheeck and gum.

Patient Vomits immediatgly or shortly after receiving oral medication.
A
Assess vomit looking for pills or fragments. Do not readminster medication without notifying primatry care provider.

Child refuses to take oral medication.
A
Some medication may be mixed in a small amount of food, such as pudding or ice cream.

Capsule or tablet falls to the floor during adminstration.
A
Discard and obtain a new dose for adminstration.
