Serial skill

end of one skill leads into the beginning of another one
Open skill
environment is constantly changing
Closed skill
environment is unchanging
Simple skill
not much decision making is required
Complex skill
lots of decision making required
Self paced skill
the performer decides when the skill begins and the speed its performed at
externally paced skill
the speed and start of the skill is dictated by the environment
gross skill
large muscle movements
fine skill
small muscle movements
high organised skill
not easy to break down
low organised skill
breaks down into subroutines
