CT-6
Indications:
- middle third femur fractures
- upper two third tibia fractures
Contraindications:
- knee trauma
- ankle/foot trauma
SAM splint
Indications:
- suspected pelvic fracture
- patient complaining of lower pain
- unconscious with significant mechanism of injury
- traumatic arrest
Contraindications:
- penetrating trauma affecting application
Anatomical splint
Indications:
- suspected noff
- foot trauma
- supporting pelvic splint
Formable splint
Indications:
- ulna, radial, humerus
- ankle, lower leg and knee
- shoulder
Standard arm sling
Indications: ulna, radius and wrist
High arm sling
Indications: hand,
Collar and cuff sling
Indications: shoulder, clavicle
Quick-clot bandage
Indications:
- Haemorrhage with inadequate response to simpler methods
Contraindications:
- Can be controlled by simpler methods
- Inaccessible haemorrhage (internal abdomen)
- Occular trauma
CAT tourniquet
Indications:
- Haemorrhage that can’t be controlled with simple methods
OPA
Indications:
- need for airway support by moving tongue anteriorly
Contraindications:
- trismus
- gag reflex
- suspected TBI or neurological injury
NPA
Indications:
- need for airway support with OPA/SGA contraindicated
Contraindications:
- Significant nasal trauma
- Middle third facial fracture
- TBI
SGA
Indications:
- airway maintenance with need for ventilation support >10 minutes
Contraindications:
- trismus
- upper airway obstruction
- gag reflex
Airway manoeuvres
Indications:
- insertion of airway device
- opening of airway
Contraindications:
- suspected spinal injury
Paracetamol indications/contraindications
Indications:
- pain
- headache
Contraindications:
- hypersensitivity
- <1 month old
- administered in last 4 hours
- max dose administered in last 24 hours
- chest pain with suspected ACS
Paracetamol presentation/dose
Presentation:
500mg tablets, 120mg in 5mL
Dose:
Adult: 1000mg (2x tablets)
E/F: 500mg (1x tablet)
Paeds: 15mg/kg oral
