Disadvantages of Traffic count?
Will be different at different times of days.- rush hour
People may be just travelling though an area.
May be standing at an area with higher congestion.
Advantages of field sketches?
Gives a visual representation of an area.
Disadvantages of field sketches?
Sketch may not reflect a whole area.
Advantages of Questionaries?
Gets a local opinion of the area.
Can collect date quickly.
Can change from qualitative to quantitive
Disadvantages of Questionaries?
Opinion may be biased. They may not be from the area.
Difficulty to find people- takes a long time
Subject to an individual’s own opinion
Requires a lot of samples to make an average
Advantages of environmental quality assessment?
Easy to compare between areas.
Takes a number of factors into account.
Disadvantages of environmental quality assessment?
Site may not be a good representation of the whole area.
