Open and closed continua
Open- decisions need to be made, environment changes
Closed- No decisions need to be made, environment is predictable
Self paced Externally paced continua
Self- Decide when to start, decide speed of movement
Externally paced- External factor affects stat time, External factors affect speed of movement
Discrete Serial Continuous continua
Discrete- Clear beginning and end
Serial- Series of discrete skills performed in a sequence
Continuous- No clear beginning and end (repetitive)
Gross Fine continua
Gross- Large muscle groups
Fine- Small muscle groups
Low High organisation continua
Low- sub-routines easy to separate
High- Sub-routines difficult to separate
Simple Complex continua
Simple- Little information to process
Complex- Lots of information to process
