Sketches, Drawing And Prints Flashcards
What is aligned dimensioning?
The dimension numbers are aligned with the dimension line. The numbers are placed to the left of the dimension line.
What is unidirectional dimensioning?
Dimensioning numbers are shown in one direction
What is Dual dimensioning?
Dual dimensioning shows both Metric and imperial for the same dimension.
Three systems of dimensioning are?
- Unidirectional
- Aligned dimensioning
- Dual dimensioning
Name this line type?
-------------
Hidden line
Counterbore (CBORE)
Is a hole that has been enlarged for a portion of its depth after the hole has been machined. Usually to accommodate the head of a screw or bolt.
Countersink (CSK)
V=CSK
Is made after a hole has been machined, so it’s dimensioned in conjunction with the hole. Usually fits flat screw head 82 degrees.
A cutting line is used to show from where the section view came. The typical sectional views are:
- Full section
- Half section
- Removed section
- Revolved section
- Broken out section
- Offset section
- Aligned section
In typical sectional views what is full section?
The cutting plane is straight and goes completely through the workpiece.
In typical sectional views what is half section?
The cutting plane line goes through only half of the workpiece. Shows you both the inside and outside of the workpiece at the same time.
In typical sectional views what is removed section?
Removed section does not use a cutting plane line, as it is mainly used to show the cross-sectional shape of a workpiece. A centreline is used to show where the section was taken from.
In typical sectional views what is revolved section?
A revolved section is similar to a removed section, but the cross-sectional shape of the object is revolved 90* and drawn directly onto the workpiece or shown broken away.
In typical sectional views what is broken out section?
If only a small portion of a part needs to be shown sectioned, a broken out section works well. A broken line is used to isolate the piece that is to be sectioned.
In typical sectional views what is offset section?
The term offset is used because the cutting plane line changes direction 90* several times to cut through other features that are to be shown in section. If this were not done, more than one sectional view would be required to show these features.
In typical sectional views what is aligned section?
The purpose of the aligned section is to show a sectional view of many different features on one sectional drawing. The cutting plane line is rotated through various angles to align all the features.
