What is the purpose of the 6 simple machines?

A

they reduce required effort by minimizing FRICTION or spreading effort over greater distance and time (most of our machines today, no matter how complex, are comprised of simple machines; which have existed for over thousands of years.)

A

reduces friction between truck and ground.

A

You have a crow bar trying to pry two things apart. the further you are from the Fulcrum, you exert more mechanical advantage (The Fulcrum is the triangle thing holding it up.)

A

Similar to wheel and axel, wrap a wheel or cord around it.

A

drive the metal wedge into the object, splitting it apart.

A

as you spin the screw, it pulls the screw down and the wood up, wrapped around the axel.
