What does Tawhid mean?

What is the main belief of Tawhid?
The belief in the oneness of God (Allah): Islam is Monotheistic - God is one and only
What is Shahada? How do Muslims apply Tawhid to this?
The Shahada is the profession of Tawhid and a chant that reflects a Muslim’s monotheistic beliefs. Muslims apply Tawhid to their recital of SHAHADA - one of the Pillars of Islam that “There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger”. This is called a ‘Monotheistic Witness’.
What is the ‘worst of all sins’?
“Shirk” is attributing Allah’s qualities to something else - this is forbidden and considered ‘the worst of all sins’. Muslims believe no other God should be worshipped - idolatry worship is worshipping something that is less than Allah.

What do these spiritual beings do?
Islam affirms the existence of spiritual beings who carry out Allah’s will in the world and are intermediators between humanity and Allah. They worship God and follow God’s commands, absolute praise, service and obedience to God.
What are Jinn?
The Jinn were spirits that could be Malevolent or Benevolent. Jinn can be mischievous and cheeky. The Qur’an mentions angels who rip out the hearts of the wicked and gentle, draws out the souls of the good who are dying.

Muslims believe that each person has two angels designated to keep a record of their deeds, good and bad, these angels are acknowledged in the daily prayer (salat)
what does the belief in Mala’ike teach Muslims?
teaches Muslims that Allah is always watching their every move so Muslims must ensure that all of their behaviours are ethical. that there is a spiritual conflict between good and evil and Muslims must ensure that they are not corrupted by the devil/the Jinn.

What is the Qur’an to Muslims (divine revelation, reliability, source)?
For Muslims, the Qur’an is the original words of divine revelation exactly as it was originally transmitted word for word. The Qur’an, they believe, is now the most reliable book in the explication of Allah’s word. The Qur’an remains the primary and ultimate source of guidance for Muslims today.
What do Muslims believe about Christian/Jewish Holy scripture?
Muslims maintain that the Holy Scripture of the Jews and Christians are extant (still in existence) only in falsified/unreliable forms.
