Federal Maritime Security Coordinator (12 NM)?
- Coordinate Area Maritime Security Plan (AMSP) and planning efforts. Directing Area Maritime Security (AMS) vulnerability assessments; directing development and maintenance of AMS plans, and maintenance of records. 2. Oversee security incident preparation. Directing AMS plan exercises and AMS plan evaluations. 3. Oversee security incident response. Directing AMS plan activation and incident mitigation activities; facilitating the conduct of investigations.
Federal Onscene Coordinator (12NM)?
- Coordinate contingency plans and planning efforts. Directing the development and maintenance of contingency plans. 2. Oversee pollution event preparation. Directing pollution event planning coordination and the exercise and evaluation of plans. 3. Oversee pollution event response. Evaluating the spill/release and coordinating on-scene response. 4. Oversee pollution event mitigation. Determining the feasibility of removal, ensuring the adequate direction or monitoring of removal, and determining when removal is complete. 5. Oversee pollution event investigation. Directing the conduct of investigations, making recommendations, and preparing and submitting On-Scene Coordinator (OSC) reports.
Who is the Officer in Charge Marine Inspection (200nm)?
- Oversee the Marine Safety Program in the assigned Marine Inspection Zone (MIZ). Directing vessel inspection programs and shipyard/factory inspections of material and equipment for vessels; administering merchant marine licensing and certification of seamen; supervising the command field activity training and qualification program; directing marine investigations; supervising Marine Information for Safety and Law Enforcement (MISLE) System; and directing enforcement of navigation, vessel inspection, and seamen laws in general. 2. Provide Marine Safety Program recommendations to higher authority. Facilitating waivers, exemptions, extensions and appeals requests; and forwarding regulatory compliance issues.
What is a critical incident?
Any incident of national interest where it is conceivable the Commandant or S-1 requires timely knowledge(i.e., terrorist attack, major marine casualty, class A mishaps with equipment, actionable intel requiring higher level involvement.
What is the critical incident timeline?
- 5 minutes; Notify Deputy and Sector Commanders. Call 1-800-323-7233 and request a conference call with D8, LANTAREA, and CGHQ. - 15 minutes; Anticipate receiving a Critical Incident Report. - 30 minutes; Provide updated information during conference call 0600Z and 1800Z: Submit SITREPS IAW D8/LANTAREA directives.
