Sinus Rhythms Flashcards
What does the P wave represent?
Atrial depolarization
What does the QRS complex represent?
Ventricular depolarization
What does the T wave represent?
Ventricular repolarization
Characteristics of normal sinus rhythm
Atrial rate: 60-100/minute
PR interval: 0.12 or greater
Characteristics of sinus Bradycardia
Atrial rate < 60/minute
PR interval: 0.12 or greater
Characteristics of sinus tachycardia
Atrial rate: 101-150/minute
PR interval: 0.12 or greater
Characteristics of sinus arrhythmia (SA)
P-P irregular, in a pattern
Difference between shortest P-P and longest P-P is <3 little blocks
PRI is at least 0.12 seconds
Treatment for sinus bradycardia
Atropine
Dopamine
Epi
Pacemaker
Treatment for sinus tachycardia
Fix according to cause
Ex: pain, stress, anxiety, stimulant, low BP, fever
Treatment for sinus arrhythmia
No treatment
