Simple Invertebrates Flashcards
Pore Like Bearer, Phylum that includes Sponges
Porifera
An Aquatic Invertebrate animal. Compromises the Coulenterates.
Cnidaria
elongated, cylindrical body, divided into ringlike segments
Annelida
A Coelenterate of an order that includes the hydras. Distinguished by the dominance of the polyp phase.
Hydroid
Fee-Swimming marine coelenterate with a jellylike bell shaped body, that is typically transparent and has stinging tentacles around the edge.
Jellyfish
simple bilaterian, unsegmented, soft bodied invertebrates
Platyhelminthes
Phylum of worms with slender, unsegmented, cylindrical bodies, including roundworms, threadworms, and eelworms. Found in water and soil. Many are parasites.
Nematoda
small nematode worm that is an internal parasite of vertebrates
Pinworms
Parasitic flatworm, the adult of which lives in the intestine of humans and other verebrates. Long Ribbonlike Bdies with many segments that can become independent, and a small head bearing hooks and suckers.
Tapeworms
An Aquatic Mollusk that has a compressed body, enclosed within a hinged shell such as oysters, clams, mussels and scallops.
Bivalves
a mollusk, snail, slug or whelk
Gastropods
Main body cavity on most multicellular animals and positioned inside the body to surround and contain the digestive track and other organs.
Coelomate
Invertebrate lacking a coelom. Flatworms andmemeteans
Acoelomate`
symmetry around the central axis. starship or a tulip.
Radial Symmetry
lack of equality or eqivalnce between parts.
Asymmetry
