A
“eggshell” calcification- the periphery/outer layer of hilar lymph nodes calcify

Simple, complicated

How does simple silicosis present itself?
A
Asymptomatic

How does complicated silicosis present itself?
A
Large conglomerate densities of nodules in upper lungs
Pt has dyspnea

What would you see in the PFT of a pt with silicosis?
A
Obstructive OR Restrictive pulmonary lung dysfunction

Pt’s with silicosis have an increased risk for what?
A
TB- and should have an annual tuberculin skin test (PPD) and a x ray during annual visits.
