Q

What is a BUS?

16
Q

Channel strip?

A

the set of controls for each sound mixer that combines multiple gain stages and audio processes.

17
Q

Insert?

A

Audio send and return from a channel strip used for additional outboard processing.

18
Q

2 types of recording console?

A

inline and split consoles

19
Q

Split console?

A

each channel has only one path

20
Q

inline console?

A

each channel has 2 audio path

21
Q

patchbay: Normal?

A

the connection that is automatically made from an output of a device to the input of another

22
Q

Patchbay: Breaking a normal?

A

Patching over an existing normal to make an alternate audio connection

23
Q

Patchbay: full-normal

A

signal from the top output jack passes to the bottom input jack without a patch cable

24
Q

Patchbay: half-normal

A

Signal from the top passes down the bottom without patching but this time a cable inserted into the top row does not break the fee to the bottom

25
Q

Patchbay: Non-normal

A

top connection does not pass signal to the bottom unless you put a patch cable btw them
