A life where you give everything up (sacrificial)

4= a holy man /spritual(sadhu)
What was the goal of making people suffer
So people’s spirits could be free
Why did Buddha want to suffer / live a aestetic life ?
To see what suffering was like and to eventually gain enlightenment

To understand the meaning of life / truth of something

How did siddharta achieve enlightenment
By mediating until he reached full enlightenment , and then creating a middle way which was a life between extreme deprivation and indulgence of both where life was lived to no extremes . If Buddhists followed this , they could reach nibbana (freedom)and eternal happiness

Anything which is imperfect which leads to suffering

Blowing out the fires of greed,hatred and ignorance ,and the state of imperfect peace that follows

1=nothing is perfect in life meaning life involves dukkha(e.g the rebirth cycle)
2=dukkha is caused by attachment ,craving ,desires
3=by overcoming attachment /cravings we overcome dukkha and imperfections
4= the way to stop craving is to follow the middle way / noble eight fold path
