A
- Conformity driven by a desire to be liked
- Individual wants to gain approval and/or avoid ridicule
- A temporary change in behavior to appear normal and be part of the majority

- Conformity driven by a desire to be correct
- When the correct behavior is uncertain, individual will look to the majority for guidance on how to behave, assuming others have more knowledge
