Shoulder pathology Flashcards
What is the quadrilateral or quadrangular space
Clinically important space in the posterior arm: axillary nerve and posterior circumflex humeral artery can be compressed due to space occupying lessions or trauma
Boundaries of the space: superior, Inferior, medial border, lateral border
Superior: Teres Minor, Inferior: Teses Major, Medial border: Long head of triceps Lateral Border: Surgical neck of the humerus
What is sub-chondral bone erosion
A confirmed focal bone loss extending below the hyaline cartilage, and cortical bone. Joint space narrowing minimal but uniform. No osteophyte formation
What is a Hill-Sachs Fracture or lesion
Associated with anterior glenohumeral dislocation. Presents as a wedge-shaped depression of the humeral dome at the level of the infraspinatus
