Shoulder 2 Flashcards
What action does the infraspinatus do?
lateral rotation; inserts on GT
What nerve should be r/o if weakness to infraspinatus?
suprascapular nerve
What is the action of the Teres Minor
External roatation and adduction
What is the origin and insertion of the teres minor
Upper 2/3 of the lateral boarder of the scapula and inserts on the GT- Lowest of the 3 GT facets
What is the name of the positive sign for a positive teres minor tear
Hornblowers test: difficult raising your arm to your mouth without abducting the arm
What is the rotator cuff interval?
Tiangular space between the SS and subscap.
Pic of triangle between the subscap and ss. The margins are defined by a number of landmarks-can I name them?
Coracoid humeral lig (CHL), transverse humeral ling (THL). If the red railroad track becomes damaged, then shoulder can become unstable
What two openings are there in the G/H capsule?
Capsule attaches proximally to the fibrocartilage glenoid labrum. One opening for the bicipital tendon and the other for subscap bursa
What do you measure when diagnosing a frozen shld?
measuring the combined thickness of the CHL and TL and capsule (combined interface)
What is the accepted width of the rotator cuff interval?
3 mm on either side of the bicep. A good sign of stabililty
What part of the posterior glenod labrum?
Only periphery
Glenoid Labrum Pathology: what is a SLAP lesion?
Throwing athelete: Superior labral tear anterior to posterior
What is reoccurring dislocations called
Bankarts lesion
Is this a dorsal ganglion or a labral cyst?
Dorsal ganglion (need pic)
Is this a dorsal ganglion or a labral cyst?
Labral cyst (need picture)
