- (+) test: patient apprehension
- indicates: glenohumeral instability (inability to maintain humeral head in glenoid (ligament, cartilage, rotator cuff damage)

- Pt: abducts arm to 90, then ask patient to slowly bring arm to neutral, can also be done w/ gentle taps on wrist
- (+) test: uncontrolled arm drop
- indicates: full thickness supraspinatus tear
