A special stretch receptor in the walks of aorta and vena cava that detect changes in blood pressure

Sensory nerve endings in the muscles tendons and joints that detect changes in body movement and position

Send info to the brain that causes sympathetic nervous system to increase firing of SAN to increase heart rate

To the CCC which then sends it to the heart via the accelerator nerve

What affect does adrenaline have on the heart
It increases the strength of ventricular contraction so stroke volume and increases heart rate

Acetylcholine is released which stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system and HR decreases

An increase in the electrolyte balance in the cardiac muscles cause the SAN to increase heart rate
