What caused Shay’s Rebellion?
The depression in the mid 1780s, many farms were seized by the govt. since the farmers couldn’t pay taxes.
What happened in Shay’s Rebellion?
Daniel Shays led an uprising of 1,000 Mass. farmers, and they tried to seize arms from a state warehouse.
What were the results of Shay’s Rebellion?
Shays and other leaders were arrested; some Americans began to believe that a stronger central government would stop rebellions. Led to Constitutional Convention

Can declare laws/executive actions unconstitutional
Define checks and balances
Each branch is able to limit the actions of the other two
Why did the Constitution include checks and balances?
So one branch wouldn’t be able to take power from the others and become a king
