A
  • has no purpose
  • not everyone has it
  • inner most layer
  • found more in coarse hair, not so much in fine

PH scale

A
  • PH means Potential Hydrogen
  • degree of acidity or alkalinity
  • typical scale is 0-14
  • neutral is 7
  • 0-7 is acid
  • 7-14 is alkalin
  • healthy PH -> 4.5-5.5
  • ammonia opens cuticle, acid closes

  • make sure cape is secure
  • make sure cape is over back of shampoo bowl
  • stand behind client and shampoo bowl
