Ecosystem

Niche

Community
An interacting group of many species in a common ecosystem
Population
A group of organisms of the same species that occupy an area
Biodiversity
The diverse amount of different species within an ecosystem
Consumer
Organisms that gain energy by eating
Producer
Organisms that make their own food for energy
Decomposer
Organisms that decompose marine life in marine ecosystems
Food web
Describes the relationships among species in an ecosystem but the relationships vary with energy flow
Trophic level
A food chain of organisms where energy levels are shown throughout each level
Parasitism
one benefits at the expense of the other
Symbiosis
When two organisms benefit from each other
Photosynthesis
The process where plants and some other organisms use sunlight to synthesize foods from carbon dioxide and water
Chemosynthesis
the synthesis of organic compounds by bacteria or other living organisms using energy derived from reactions involving inorganic chemicals, typically in the absence of sunlight.
