▪ Primary or Chancre
- Painless sore at the site of entry of germs
- Swollen glands
▪ Secondary or Condylomatalata
- Maculopapular rash notably on palms and soles.
- Moist papules on the skin
and mucous membranes.
▪ Tertiary or Gummas
- Varies from no symptoms.
- Indication of damage to body organs such as brain, heart, and
liver

▪ Penicillin
- For all stages of syphilis

▪ Benzathine penicillin given to
contacts

- Burning & itching of urethral opening
- Burning sensation during urination
While Female Patient is Experiencing:
- Slight vaginal discharge
- Itching & burning of vagina
- Painful intercourse
- Abdominal pain

Treatment of Chlamydia
▪ Tetracycline
▪ Erythromycin (effective in infected mother to prevent neonatal disease)
