Sexually Transmitted Infections Flashcards
Disease caused by the gram-negative diplococcus Neisseria gonorrhoeae bacterium (gonococcus [Gc]), which manifests itself as inflammation of the urethra, prostate, rectum, or pharynx. The cervix and fallopian tubes may also be involved in females, although they may appear to be asymptomatic, meaning without symptoms.
Gonorrhea

Herpes genitalis (herpes simplex virus 2 [HSV-2])

Human papillomavirus (HPV)
Inflammation of the urethra caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, Mycoplasma genitalium, or Ureaplasma urealyticum
