complex concept defined not only by one’s bodily appearance/gender, but also by attitudes, feelings, beliefs, and behavior
individually expressed and highly personal phenomenon whose meaning evolves from life experiences that are influenced by physiological, psychosocial, religious, cultural factors
Sexual Health
- WHO
- State of physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being in relation to sexuality
- Requires a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships
- Honors and respects sexual rights of all individuals
Normal Sexual Behaviors
- no normal and/or universal sexual behaviors
- mutual pleasure/satisfaction of adults involved
- lacks of threat of coercion or injury

- right to sexual freedom
- right to sexual autonomy, integrity, privacy and equity
