Q

What is the difference between sexual and asexual?

A

Asexual reproduction does not involve sex cells or fertilisation . Only one parent is required, unlike sexual reproduction which needs two parents. … As a result, the offspring are genetically identical to the parent and to each other.

Sexual reproduction requires 2 parents and has to have fertilisation to occur.

20
Q

What is the similarity between sperms and egg?

A

Both are used for reproduction, both have the same number of chromosomes, and both are produced by the same process of gamete formation (the formation of sex cells).

21
Q

How many chromosomes does a zygote have?

A

46 pairs of chromosomes.

22
Q

Why does a zygote have 46 pair of chromosomes?

A

It is because a sperm contains 23 chromosomes and the egg also contains 23 chromosomes. When fuse, it would be combine together. Hence, 46 pairs of chromosomes.

23
Q

The male gamete is the sperm while the female reproductive cell is the egg. True or false?

A

24
Q

What is abortion?

A

It is the deliberate termination of the foetus/ embryo from the uterus.

25
Q

Why is abortion considered harmful?

A

It may lead to death due to great loss of blood.

Uterus and fallopian tube may be infected which cause infertility.

26
Q

When is abortion usually carried out?

A

Within the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. [3 months]

27
Q

What are some reasons people may choose abortion?

A

Q

What are 3 types of STI?

A

Gonorhoea, Syphilis and AIDS.

34
Q

What is the full name for AIDS?

A

Acquired Immune deficiency syndrome

35
Q

What causes AIDS?

A

HIV. (Human Immunodeficiency virus)

36
Q

Briefly explain, how HIV causes AIDS and how it kills someone?

A

Once the person’s immune system is destroyed extensively, they would be susceptible to other types of diseases and infections. As the body is to weak to fight against the diseases and infections, the person would fall sick and result into death.

37
Q

What stage of HIV is AIDS at?

A

AIDS is the most serious stage of HIV infection.

38
Q

Is HIV the cause to why AIDS patient die?
