A
  • Form of reproduction where two gametes (One sperm and one an Egg), fuse to produce a zygote (Offspring).
  • Offspring may be unique, but not physically or genetically identical.

Outline an advantage of Sexual reproduction

A
  • Long term evolutionary period.
  • Unfavorable genetic variation is eliminated from the population more efficiently.
  • Populations are better able to adapt to new environments.
  • Produces genetic diversity, that can help individuals of a population to become better suited to their environment.
