Plateau phase
A phase in the human sexual response cycle wherein decrease in arousal occurs after orgasm (particularly in men)
Resolution phase
Increased flow of blood into the penis

Blood pools in the pelvic area leading to vaginal lubrication

Is when ejaculation happens sooner than a man or his partner would like during sex, within a defined period of time, usually less than 2 to 3 minutes.
Premature ejaculation
includes pain during sexual intercourse or other sexual activity that involves penetration and involuntary contraction of muscles around the opening of the vagina (levator ani syndrome, or vaginismus), making sexual intercourse painful or impossible.
Genito-pelvic pain/penetration disorder
Refers to a chronic condition that is present during a person’s entire sexual life
Lifelong sexual dysfunction
Refers to a disorder that begins after sexual activity has been relatively normal
Acquired sexual dysfunction
Little or no interest in sex that is causing significant distress in the individual
Sexual Desire Disorder
It is difficult to assess low sexual desire and a great deal of clinical judgement is required. It is defined in the DSM-5 as persistent or recurrently deficient sexual or erotic thoughts, fantasies, and desire for sexual activity. (male)
Male hypoactive sexual desire disorder
Low sexual interest is almost always accompanied by a diminished ability to become excited or aroused by erotic cues or sexual activity. (Female)
female sexual interest/arousal disorder
Have frequent sexual urges and fantasies and a strong desire to have sex but their problem is in becoming physically aroused
Erectile disorder
An inability to achieve an orgasm despite adequate sexual desire and arousal is commonly seen in women and less commonly seen in men
Orgasm Disorders
Females who achieve orgasm only with great difficulty or not at all
female orgasmic disorder
males who achieve orgasm only with great difficulty or not at all
delayed ejaculation
Ejaculatory fluids travel backward into the bladder rather than forward. It is caused by the effects of certain drugs or a coexisting medical condition.
Retrograde ejaculation
Ejaculation that occurs well before the man and his partner wish it too
Premature ejaculation
It refers to difficulties with penetration during attempted intercourse or significant pain during intercourse
Genito-Pelvic Pain/Penetration Disorder
Pelvic muscles in the outer third of the vagina undergo involuntary spasms when intercourse is attempted
