structual irony

A

Structural irony: the outcome is the opposite of what is intended, the character may make observations but the narrator makes clear that it is due to their lack of maturity

(death of Ivan) he acts in a way that is negative but the narrator shows that he acts this way because of his lack of maturity and he finally reaches peace at the end due to his love of his son
