0.25mg/kg SLOW (IV, IO)
over 2mins
q: 0.35 mg/kg after 15mins
What are the contraindications for diltiazem?
Heart-blocks Shock SSS VTach Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome
What are the side effects of diltiazem?
Hypotension Bradycardia Dizziness Headache Nausea

Intropin

What is dopamine used for?
DOC Cardiogenic shock, hypotension w/out hypovolemia.
3rd line bradycardia
What is the dose for dopamine?
1-20mcg/kg/min (IV Infusion)
1-5= dopaminergic
5-10= B1 (HR)
10-20= A1 (BP)
What are the contraindications for dopamine?
VFib
Tach-Dys >150
Hypovolemia
Pheochromocytoma
What are the side effects/ notes of dopamine?
Tachy-Dys, hypertension.
Increase myocardial O2 demand.
What is another name for procainamide?
Pronestyl

Anti-dysrhythmic
What is the action of procainamide?
Slows conduction in the ventricular muscle mass.
What is procainamide used for?
1st line stable VTach (monomorphic)
What is the dose of procainamide?
20mg/min
MAX 17mg/kg
What are the contraindications of procainamide?
Heart-blocks
Digitalis toxicity
Torsades De Pointes
What are the side effects/ notes of procainamide?
Bradycardia, hypotension, widening of the QRS complex.
D/C if QRS widens >50% Dysthymia is suppressed Max is reached Hypotension develops

CNS depressant
What is magnesium used for?
Torsades De Pointes
OPTIONAL VFib
DOC eclamptic seizure
What is the dose of magnesium?
1-4G SLOW (IV, IO)
MAX 4G
What are the contraindications of magnesium?
Shock
Heart-blocks
What are the side effects/ notes of magnesium?
Decrease in HR/RR
Hypotension
CAUTION if they have CNS depressants in system already.
