What’s the first reading
A
The formal procedure where name of bill is read (no vote or discussion)

Second reading
A
- MP’s discuss bill then vote “aye” or “nay” through yelling. If majority is “aye” then law moves to next stage
- if majority isn’t clear formal vote takes place

Committee stage
A
16-50 specialised MP’s examine bill

Report stage
A
Where any amendments needed are reposted back to house, (they can accept or reject)

A
Final vote

Sent to opposing house
A
Opposing house goes through the same 5 stages and then bill is passed between each house until agreement is made

Royal assent
