Q

George took a blow to the side of his head. This knocked him unconscious and then went through a period of normality before a rapid decline in his condition. Doctors suspect a haemorrhage. Explain how this occurs and what haemorrhage this is likely to be?

A

An extradural haemorrhage caused by a fracture in a weakness in the skull caused the Pterion. This caused damage to middle meningeal artery which runs between the periosteal dura and inner table of bone. This can be identified on a CT with a biconcave area of blood intracranially.
