Why is ischaemic muscle pain felt?
A
Muscle is ischaemic, pH drops and this stimulates pain afferent in muscle. A neuropeptide, substance P, is released locally and increases the sensitivity of pain afferents in muscle.

A
- angina
- unstable angina
- myocardial infarction

Resolves with rest and relieved by GTN spray, a vasodilator.

How is unstable angina represented on an ECG?
A
ST depression or T wave invasion but NO ST elevation
