Sequences Flashcards
Describe the DNA replication sequence
DNA helicase
Breaks all the h bonds between complementary base pairs
Causing double helix to unwind
Each of the separated Dna strands acts as a template
Free floating DNA nucleotides within the nucleus attracted to their complementary base pairs on the template strand of the original Dna
Adjacent nucleotides form phophodieser bonds by condensation reaction
Dna polymerase catalyses the joining together of adjacent nucleotides
Two sets of daughter DNA contains one stand of original dna and one newly synthesised
Transcription
Rna polymerase
Breaks H bonds between complementary base pairs Causing double helix to unwind
Each dna straps acts as a template
Free floating RNa nucleotides atr added to complementary bases on strand
RNA nucleotides from phophodiester bonds by condensation reaction
Rna polymerase reattached the DNa helix as it does once the Rna strand is complete the RNa stand detaches from Dna
Leaving with Mrna strand and original dna helix
Translation
Ribosome binds to the mrna strand
Trna molecule with complementary antibodies bind to codon on the Mrna stand bringing amino acids with it then it repeated
A ribosome joins the amino acids together with condensation reaction forming a peptide bond between amino acids
Ribosomes then continues to move along the mRna strand adding amino acids to the polypeptide chain till its complete
Ribosome polypeptide chain and amino acid carry molecules mrna stand all detach from each other
