What does filtering separate?
Filtering separates insoluble substances from liquids or solutions.
How does filtering work?
The filter stops particles that are not soluble from passing through.
What does evaporating separate?
Evaporating separates solids from their solutions.
How does evaporating work?
Evaporation works because the solvent( usually water) is evaporated and the solid solute is left .
What is the residue?
The solid that stays in the filter paper.
what is the liquid that passes through the filter paper??
The filtrate.
What does distillation separate?
Distillation separates substances with different boiling points.
How does distillation work?
The mixture is heated and the substance that boils at a lower temperature turns into a gas and is cooled and collected.
