S-LV-PA
subject, linking verb, and predicate adjective. The linking verb describes the subject. Adj describes subject.
S-LV-PN
subject, linking verb, and predicate noun. The linking verb acts as an equals sign. The noun renames the subject.
S-V
simple action pattern. Subject, verb.
S-V-DO
direct object follows verb and answers question who or what. Direct object can be a phrase/clause/one word.
S-V-IO-DO
IO=identifies to/for whom/what action is done. Usually answers question who. It may be more than one work /clause
S-V-DO-OC
OC = follows direct object (noun which renames DO or adj to describe DO). OC completes meaning of DO. Renames or describes DO.
