Filtering- when you deliberately take our info to hide it
Emotion- not sending or receiving well due to your feelings
Technological breakdown- email don’t work
Language- people don’t understand due to age or gender
Selective perception- someone will see something depending on their view
Specific language (barrier of communication)
Pompous language- using words that are outdated
Jargon- technical language
Tautology- two words twice in the same sentence
Ambiguity- when a sentence has more than one meaning
What is the difference between verbal and non verbal
Verbal- is in a written or spoken form
Non verbal- is body language and imagery
define closed question and how it helps with feedback
A closed question is intending a yes or no response. E.g did you understand
This helps with feedback as you can get a simple response whether they understand or not
Define tautology and give an example
Tautology is when there is two meanings in a sentence. E.g we offer the fastest service in the quickest time
If someone is trying to ring you but your phone has shit down!

This compromises of a technology failure that results in you to be unable of communication

Is when a sentence has two different meanings
E.g last night I shot an elephant in my pyjamas

Is when one person views something one way on their beliefs and the other the other way
E.g of a call is made at a football game one supporter will go with that and the other will go the opposite way
Suggest an effective method of communicating a professional business image to potential clients and customers
Wearing formal uniform with you Le logo. Wear the appropriate colour for the uniform e.g a childcare will often war blue to show purity and loyalty

What are the three forms of communication
Formal- under management control and is usually on writing
Informal- not under management control, called the grapevine
Semi-formal- no under management control and usually occurs in seminars or meetings where conversation happens and it will be later written or recorded
What is upward, downward and lateral communication
Upward- when a staff member speak to a boss
Lateral- when a staff member speaks to a staff member
Downward- when a boss speaks to a staff member
