What does PCI do?
It is commonly available to support older expansion cards.

An external device.
What does the graphics card do?
Affects the overall performance of the computer.
Why is having a good quality gaphics card important?
Because it must meet or exceed the requirements of a program in order to perform effectively.
What does a graphics card require to support it?
RAM, a good CPU or both.
What are some GPUs integrated into?
The CPU. This is common in laptops and lower end PCs.
What does the sound card do?
It determines the sound quality of the computer.
What must a sound card be supported by to reach its full potential?
Quality speakers and a subwoofer.
How should a sound card be chosen?
It should be chosen based on it’s users needs.
What do storage controllers do?
They allow for the epansion of internal and external drives for a computer system.
What unfluences the choice of data controller?
The amount of data and the level of data protection required, influences the required type of controller.
What does an I/O card do?
It is a quick and easy way to add I/O ports.
