Factors that increase risk of recurrant FSs

A

1) younger <1hr) before seizure onset
4) FHx of FS 9 1st degree relatives of children w FS - 10-20% parents and siblings will have FS)

  • all factors present - risk increased to 76%
  • no factors - 4%
  • NB Complex FS not factor for risk recurrence
