If the client is having a seizure, maintain a patient airway. Do not force the jaw open or place anything in the client’s mouth

Note the time and duration of seizure

Monitor behavior at the onset of the seizure

Turn the client to the side to allow secretions to drain while maintaining the airway

Do not restrain the client and loosen restrictive clothing
