Tonic-Clonic (grand mal)
A
LOC, convulsions of all extremities, urinary and fecal incontinence
Can last 2-5 minutes
Recovery can take several hours

Absence (petit mal)
A
brief LOC, immediate and full recovery, posture maintained with no convulsive mm contractions

Q
Status epilepticus
A
Prolonged seizure or series of seizures lasting > 30 minutes.
May be life threatening - treat as emergency.
