Steps for Beir Block?
- Place tourniquet
- Place PIV
- Elevate
- Bandage
- Inflate distal
- Inflate proximal
- Deflate distal
What is the soonest a tourniquet can be deflated?
At least 20 minutes.
20-40 can deflate but must reinflate
After 40 minutes can e deflated
What should be avoided in Beir Block?
Do not use bupivacaine or epi
Can use Toradol
Need large volume of .5% lidocaine
