Fuel tank
- secured by the straps

- straps not broken and all hardware is in place and tight
- no signs of shifting
Steps
- secured with all hardware in place and tight
- not broken and free of debris
Cargo door
- secured to the cab and not damaged
- seal is intact
- closed securely
DOT reflectors (top back corners of cab)
- tape in place and not faded, peeling, or missing
Exhaust
(Check as far under the cab as possible)
- secure with all hardware in place and tight
- not touching any lines
- no signs of soot which would indicate a leak
Catwalk and steps (if equipped)
- secured with all hardware in place and tight
- not broken and free of debris
Drive shaft
- not bent or broken
- secured at both ends
- nothing twisted around it
- U-joints in good shape at both ends and free of debris
Frame and cross members
- not bent or broken
- no broken welds or illegal holes
- all hardware in place and tight
Torque arm
- not bent or broken
- all hardware in place and tight
- bushings are good so it does not move
Spring hanger
- securely attached
- not broken
- has not been welded
- all hardware is in place and tight
Leaf springs
- secured to the mount
- not missing or broken
- properly aligned
U-bolts
- secured in place with all hardware on the bottom and tight
- no indication of shifting ( no clean or shiny spots)
Air bag and mounts
- secure with all hardware in place and tight
-no abrasions, bubbles, or cuts - not dry rotted or leaking
Brake air line
- connections are tight at both ends
- not cut, frayed, or rubbing anything
- not leaking
Brake chamber
- secured with all hardware in place and tight
- no holes or damage
- bands are in place
- not leaking
Slack adjuster push rod assembly
- secure with all hardware in place and tight
- not bent or broken
- no more than 1 inch of play when brakes are released
Brake shoes
- not broken or missing
- not covered in oil or grease
- at least 1/4 inch thick
Brake drum
- not broken
- no welds
- not covered in oil or grease
Tires (drive)
(All sidewalls)
- no abrasions, bubbles, or cuts
- no tread separation
- evenly worn
- at least 2/32 inch of tread depth
Budd rims
- butted against each other
- tires do not touch
- free of debris between the tires
Rim
- not cracked, bent, or welded on
- bead is not coming apart
Lug nuts
- all ten are in place and tight
- no rust streaks indicating looseness
- no shiny threads indicating cross threading
Valve stem
- cap is in place
- no leaks
- check to make sure tire is properly inflated
Axle or hub oil seal
- not leaking and filled to proper level
- all hardware is in place and tight
Mud flap and bracket
- attached securely and is not broken or missing
- not torn or damaged
- secured to the hanger with all hardware in place and tight
- does not touch the ground or tire
- DOT tape is across the top of flap
Lights
- brake lights, tail lights, reverse lights, turn signals, and 4-way flashers are secured to the vehicle
- not cracked or broken
- correct color and should work
Right turn signal
(Sec B- go to the right of the tractor and cover turn signal)
- secured to the tractor
- correct color
- not broken and should work
