Text files placed on a client’s computer to store information about the user’s browsing habits, credentials, and other data.
Cookies
Usually used by spyware to gather details on you.
Tracking Cookies
Used to keep track of users and their preferences and maybe even the things they are putting into their shopping carts.
Session Cookies
Allows companies to do the same types of tracking for shopping carts and similar actions while allowing you to block cookies and not have them on your machine.
Server-side Tracking
Also knows as flash cookies they are stored in your windows user profile under the flash folder inside of your AppData folder.
Locally Shared Object (LSO)
Smaller browser extensions and plugging that provide additional functionality to the browser.
Add-ons
Browser configuration and settings for numerous options such as SSL/TLS settings, local storage/cache size, browsing history, and much more.
Advanced Security Options
An electronic document used to prove the validity of a public key.
Digital Certificate
Prevents unauthorized access and avoids user error in the form of accidental changes.
