  1. All groups need Rules which all must follow
  2. Laws in business make sure we are all paid and treated fairly
  3. Protect the weak from strong (seems legit…)
  4. Keeps things organised and in order and control

What is the connection between Law and Justice (4)

A
  1. If law is unjust people would believe that it is right to break the law.
  2. If some are unjust people may think all are unjust
  3. If Law dont give justice people will take law into their own hands
  4. If the legal system is not working it can lead to civil war.

Theories of Punishment (3)

A
  1. Retribution- punished in proportion to crime kill those who kill criminals should suffer for what they have done.
  2. Deterrence- Cutting off hands for stealing so they dont do it again.
  3. Reform- Educating criminals so they have qualifications so they do not have to turn to crime
  4. Protection- Imprisonment and released they are no longer a danger.

  4. When Muhammad (PBUH) was in Medinah he him self sentenced people to death for committing murder.
