Christian attitudes towards War (4)
- 10 commandments forbids killings
- Jesus teaches to love your enemies ‘pray for those who prosecute you’
- Jesus stopped his own followers from using violence
- Nuclear and Atomic weapons can cause large amounts of and killings of innocent.
‘For all who draw by the sword die by the sword’
Muslim Attitudes towards war (4)
- The Quraan teaches about defence but peace is always a better choice.
- Prophet Muhammad fought in wars
- permits Muslims to fight in Just wars.
- Anyone who dies in a just war will go straight to heaven
Christian Attitudes towards Bullying (4)
- Physical and verbal violence without a just case is forbidden by the Bible
- Jesus taught to love eachother - Golden Rule
- Jesus teaches to treat people with respect and protect the weak and vulnerable
- Bible teaches that Revenge is wrong.
Muslim Attitudes towards bullying (4)
- Violence or aggression without reason a just cause is wrong
- It is wrong to abuse Allah’s creation
- Islam teaches that muslims should work to put an end to injustice and cruelty which includes bullying.
- Muhammad (PBUH) taught that on the last day will be judged on their actions and how how they lived their lives and if they were bullies God will be disappointing.
Types of Conflict between families (4) and the consequences (2)
- Children no longer want to be part of parent religion
- Parents worry about childs afterlife
- Worry if the child will become immoral without religion - Children want to marry outside of the faith
- What religion will the child be
- Where will the couples be Buried - Children Become more religious than their parents
- May become a priest, so the family will have no grand children
- Children might criticise their parents. - Disagreements over moral decisions
- A catholic who want to get a divorce
- A couple that decides to live together before marriage
Christian views on Forgiveness and Reconciliation (4)
- God has forgiven them
- Jesus died on the cross to make god forgive the sins of humanity
- Jesus forgave his enemies
- Christians believe that they should forgive others and therefore believe god will be merciful to them during judgement day
Muslim views on Forgiveness and Reconciliation (4)
- One of Allah’s 99 names is Compassionate and Merciful, therefore Muslims believe just like god forgives so should we should do the same
- Merciful and forgiving people will be shown forgiveness by God
- Prophet Muhammad forgave people Muslims should follow his teachings
- There are many teachings in the Quraan about forgiveness and Reconciliation
