What is organisational psychology
the application of psychological theories and principles to the workplace: the science of how people think and behave at work.

What are the basic challenges of most organisations
need satisfaction: satisfy financial, belonging, status and power needs

how has the female labour force grown
women used to be faced with greater balance regarding work and home life which has changed significantly. now, people can choose to work from home, fit in family responsibilities, or do part time work.

it offers more flexibility and is effective in balancing family and work
however the opportunity to take part time work is more concentrated in lower-skilled jobs.
the employer needs to employ and train more workers.

since more people are going to higher education, they need to be able to use their skills in the workplace to get satisfaction.
if they cant get this, they wont be satisfied or motivated, which is bad for both the employee and the employer.

organisational psychologists can help employers assist and appreciate older workers by overcoming prejudice, changing how they advevrtise and recruit employees, evaluating training methods, and understanding how to keep them engaged.
