What is the Purpose of Secondary Assessment?
A
To determine what is wrong, and determine if other potential injuries, illnesses or complicating factors exists.
Is the injury a result of en external force, or is this a medical disorder or illness?
Point to the appropriate action and treatment
Gather information to pass on to medical or emergency personal

What are vitals?
A
Vital signs provide useful clues for tracking changes in a victim’s condition. Check at the beginning of Secondary Assessment
Be on alert for abnormal responses, sounds, odours, rates and rhythms, colour and temperature shifts.
Check for:
LOC, breathing, pulse, skin condition
