- Moscow metro opened 1935
- Volga canal opened 1937
- 4 more generators added to Dnieprostroi Dam, making it the biggest dam in Europe for producing hydro electric power
- electricity and chemical industries grew massively
- new metals such as copper zinc and tin mines for the first time
- steel output trebled
- coal production doubled
- rearmament: went from 4% of GDP to 17% from 1933-1937

- oil production failed to meet targets
- still disappointing increase in consumer goods
- many felt it was quantity over quality in terms of production of goods
